About this festival

SonneMondSterne 2026 takes place in Saalburg by the Bleiloch Reservoir from 7 to 9 August. The electronic festival combines two festival days with multi-day camping, while the official shop also includes a Wednesday warm-up party and a Thursday pre-opening party. Known as SMS.XXVIII, it spans techno, bass music, trance, hardstyle and dance.

FISHER, The Chainsmokers, Scooter and Sara Landry are among the artists confirmed for Friday. Skrillex, Paul Kalkbrenner, Klangkuenstler, Nico Moreno and Andy C feature in the official Saturday line-up. A regular weekend ticket costs €199; camping and a refundable waste deposit are listed separately in the shop. Tickets are available through the official SonneMondSterne shop.

If you are travelling by train, get off at Bad Lobenstein, where regular shuttle buses run to the festival site. The journey takes around 25 minutes.

Is parking available?

Parking costs €50 per vehicle for the entire festival. Caravans, cars with trailers and minibuses cost €70. Access to the car park is only possible with a festival ticket. The car park opens at 10 am on Wednesday and closes early on Monday; it is open around the clock.

How old do I need to be to get in?

Young people aged 16 or over may attend the festival only when accompanied by an adult and with a completed parental authorisation form. The authorisation form can be downloaded from the festival website. This is based on the Youth Protection Act.

How do I pay on site?

SonneMondSterne Festival is cashless. All drinks, food, merchandise and other purchases can only be paid for using the festival wristband. Credit can be added online before the festival or on site at the top-up stations using cash, EC- or credit card. A one-off activation fee is charged with the first top-up. Any remaining credit is refunded free of charge after the festival.

What happens in bad weather?

In severe weather, follow the instructions of the organiser and security staff immediately. Your own car is the safest place. Avoid bodies of water, trees, natural high points and temporary structures such as tents, stages and food stalls. Emergency exits may be opened by security staff if necessary.
