DIE GEBRÜDER BRETT

Die Gebrüder Brett are the DJ-producer duo Phillip Kretschmann and Rolf Wachs, blending Tekkno with a healthy dose of humour. Their music moves between techno, hardcore and rap elements without committing to a single direction.

Phillip and Rolf are from Halle and Leipzig, and met at a party in 2013. Rolf was already DJing at the time; after another set at a private party hosted by Phillip, their joint project began to take shape. On 25 December 2013, they made their first appearance as Die Gebrüder Brett at Club Rohtabak in Döbeln.

They first attracted attention in the East German techno scene with “Der Osten feiert besser”. A release from 2017 reached the Top 5 of Spotify’s Viral Charts in the month it was released. Their first album, “Tekkno ist cool”, arrived for their seventh anniversary on 25 December 2020 and also made room for their fondness for playful sounds. In 2022, they performed to large crowds at, among other events, SonneMondSterne Festival and Sputnik Spring Break.

In the studio, the pair often begin work on their tracks separately before bringing their ideas together. On stage, this distinctive mix meets the energy of a duo whose sets have long taken them beyond East Germany.
