JOWI

JOWI is a DJ and producer who sees hard techno not merely as a tool for impact, but as a way of bringing people together on the dancefloor. Her sets thrive on high energy and a determination to remain surprising, even at their most intense.

Born in Poland, she moved to Germany with her family as a teenager, where music helped her find her place in a new environment. She discovered techno at 18, encouraged by artists such as Amelie Lens and Charlotte de Witte to get behind the decks herself. In 2019, she bought a mixer from a friend and played her first set at a small self-organised forest rave two weeks later. During the pandemic, she practised at home, recorded sets and began producing her own music.

Her appearance at Verknipt Festival 2024 proved a turning point, followed by shows at Creamfields, Decibel, Kappa Futur and Terminal V. Together with Jazzy and Zatox, she founded KRAWALL Records, which also released her solo track „Submerged“.

The track brings together hard techno and gabber influences, though JOWI does not want to define her sound by that combination alone. Rather than building a set exclusively around industrial, schranz or gabber, she blends different hard styles. For the crowd, this means shifting tension and plenty of movement: the intensity remains, but its direction is never entirely predictable.
