GESTÖRT ABER GEIL combine house beats with catchy pop melodies – music made for both dancing and singing along. The German DJ duo turned this blend first into a shared project and later into a regular fixture on festival stages.

It began at the My Ccools World nightclub in Sangerhausen, where Nico Wendel and Marcel Stephan, known as Spike*D, regularly DJed and realised their styles were a good match. They founded Gestört aber GeiL in October 2010, and the duo has been signed to Kontor Records since early 2015. Since 2019, Oliver Helmert has formed the duo with Nico Wendel.

Their first major festival break came at Sputnik Springbreak in 2012, where they had won their appearance as the top prize in a DJ contest. They later recorded “Unter meiner Haut” with Koby Funk and Wincent Weiss, their version of a song by Elif, reaching number six in the German charts in 2015. Their collaboration with Sebastian Hämer on “Ich & Du” also charted. Their self-titled debut album entered the German album charts at number two in 2016.

Melodic tech house, house and pop continue to shape their sets. In 2025, they continued their journey with their fourth studio album, “IIII”. Their festival sound brings electronic rhythms together with familiar pop appeal.
