Solstice Festival 2027

When the sun does not set over Rukatunturi on 24 June 2027, a festival without darkness begins in Kuusamo. Solstice takes over the summit of the 490-metre fell at the Ruka ski resort, spread across several stages. For three days, driving club sets alternate with tranquil ambient soundscapes against the vast forests and lakes of northern Finland.

The site is open daily from 4 pm until 2 am. Those wishing to continue afterwards can head to the piste lodge in Ruka, where the official after-hours parties run until morning. Three-day tickets include the ski lifts, shortening the journey up to the summit. Accommodation is available in Ruka Village and nearby apartments; camping is not available on the festival site itself. Kuusamo Airport provides access, as do buses from Oulu and Helsinki.
