Villain

Villain is the voice many hardstyle fans associate with the biggest festival stages. As an MC and DJ, he brings the energy of harder sounds to the crowd. Behind the artist name is Michael Brons from the Netherlands.

His connection to the scene began on the other side of the stage: in 2000, he first discovered harddance as a raver. He then bought vinyl, played small clubs and increasingly picked up the microphone during his DJ sets. Those first announcements led to bookings as an MC for entire evenings, and the DJ became a sought-after host.

His distinctive voice can also be heard on tracks by D-Block & S-te-Fan, Coone and Charly Lownoise. He has guided crowds on festival stages from Defqon.1 and Reverze to Tomorrowland, and later recalled his farewell to Qlimax as an emotional moment.

Villain’s strength lies not only in his voice, but in his instinct for carrying a crowd with his announcements and stage presence. His view of hardstyle as a community, whose energy he wants to pass on from the stage, shows just how much that connection matters to him.
