About SQEEZER

Sqeezer represent a side of the Nineties where Eurodance and pop came together through catchy melodies and plenty of movement. The German group changed its line-up several times over the years, but founder Jim Reeves remained a constant for a long time.

Reeves founded Sqeezer in 1995 with Yvonne Spath; after the first single, Loretta Stern took over the female vocals. With dancer Tee Jay, the duo became a trio whose early music combined Eurodance beats with touches of the Fifties. That blend could be heard on the debut album „Drop Your Pants“ as well as the early singles „Blue Jeans“ and „Sweet Kisses“.

In 1996, Sqeezer toured as the support act for Worlds Apart, while „Sweet Kisses“ topped the Spanish singles chart. They enjoyed another success in 1998 with the ballad „Without You“, which reached number ten in both Germany and Austria. Musically, the group also moved beyond its early dance sound, bringing calmer pop songs and soul elements to the fore on its second album.

Following further line-up changes and a temporary name change to Squeezer, the group returned to its original name in 2013 and began performing at Nineties festivals again. After Reeves’ death in 2016, the remaining members initially decided not to continue without him. Since 2025, a trio comprising singer Xenia Prinzessin von Sachsen, dancer Pravit Anantapongse and former band member Andreas Buttscheidt has continued Sqeezer and reissued the two early singles.
