ESKEI83

ESKEI83, real name Sebastian König, is a DJ and producer from Dresden whose roots lie in hip-hop and who now combines drum & bass with turntablism. Eight DJ battle wins and the Red Bull 3Style world title reflect his technical skill, but he is equally focused on getting a party moving with the right tracks.

König grew up in Elstra near Kamenz, where football initially interested him more than music lessons. Germany’s hip-hop scene sparked his curiosity for music: in 1998, he bought his first equipment and taught himself to make beats at home. Scratching over DJ Premier beats inspired him to bring the technique into his own productions, followed by his first appearances at youth centres and small clubs. After finishing school, he moved to Dresden for vocational training, has worked as a full-time DJ since 2005 and founded the Crispy Crust Records label with the Drunken Masters in 2014.

At Red Bull Music 3Style, he won the German final in 2013 and came third at the World Championship in Toronto. A year later, he became the first German to win the world title in Baku. From 2016 to 2018, he accompanied Die Fantastischen Vier as their tour DJ; in 2017, he also produced their track „Das Ist Mein Ding“.

His journey from hip-hop to drum & bass has not displaced his work on the decks: he combines turntablism with his own productions in the genre. He is also at home on major stages, having appeared at Rock am Ring and Splash! Festival.
