DASSTUDACH

Behind Dasstudach is Gian Studach, a DJ who grew up in Chur and blends grooves and forceful basslines with Schranz in his sets. His energy behind the decks and connection with the crowd have made him particularly well known in Zurich’s techno scene.

A key early step came in 2021 with the launch of Glanzikultur, which he founded with friends near Glanzenberg railway station. Two years later, the label had established itself in Zurich’s nightlife, while Dasstudach had become a defining figure in the scene with his uncompromising sound. He also runs his own label, Das:Dach, through which he plans to release music with other artists.

Appearances at Lehmann in Stuttgart and Gotec in Karlsruhe took his sound beyond Switzerland. His debut at Berlin’s Tresor followed in spring 2023, with his first Boiler Room appearance in Zurich taking place in December that year.

On stage, Dasstudach channels the physical force of hard techno and Schranz without losing touch with the crowd. One sentence sums up his view of this music’s intensity: “The harder the sound, the warmer the crowd.”
