About this festival
Floating Notes Festival moves into a permanent home in 2026: Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona, one of Switzerland’s few remaining tiered theatres. From 30 October to 1 November 2026, electronic music, contemporary jazz and audiovisual formats come together, complemented by club nights at Folk Bar.
Opening on Friday evening, Jeff Mills presents his CineMix for Fritz Lang’s silent film “Metropolis” – his only Swiss appearance and marking the film’s centenary. Saturday features Chassol with the audiovisual project “Funny How?”, harpist Julie Campiche, guitarist Manuel Troller, cellist Sara Oswald, singer-songwriter Nadine Carina, Davide Botta with ambient electronics, and a DJ set by Toshka spanning deep house and electronic music. The festival closes on Sunday with a brunch.
The festival began in the Grisons mountains and comes to Bellinzona for the first time in 2026. Concerts take place in the theatre auditorium, with later evenings at Folk Bar; in between, the Floating Hub opens as a meeting point for audiences, artists and the team. The old town, with its three castles, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
