Catscan

Behind Catscan is Bart Kok, a Dutch DJ and producer whose musical home is hardcore. His story runs from an Amiga with Protracker and Thunderdome Records to his own labels and long-standing ties within the scene.

He began by sending a demo to ID&T, who advised him to get more professional equipment. A year later, his next attempt succeeded. His first release, “Universal”, came out under the name Cat-Scan on Thunderdome Records; he subsequently became Catscan. Through ID&T, he met DJ Promo, collaborated with him on several tracks and co-founded the label The Third Movement with him.

The first pressing was limited to 750 copies, while “WO III” from his second release made its mark on dancefloors. His joint production with DJ Promo, “Midnight Impact”, finally gave Catscan his breakthrough. Further releases on The Third Movement followed, along with his debut album “The World Is Mine”.

He later launched Pro Artist Management with DJ X-Ess and joined Masters of Hardcore in 2007. He has remained true to his hardcore sound as both a DJ and producer: since 2025, he has once again been making music for Thunderdome, with new tracks also released in 2026.
