Bellini

Bellini blend dance and pop with the rhythm inseparably linked to their biggest hit, “Samba de Janeiro”. The German project was created by producers Ramon Zenker and Gottfried Engels, also known as The Bellini Brothers.

For live appearances, the original 1997 line-up brought together one male dancer and four female dancers. Later that summer, dancer Mustafa Makhloufi left the group, which continued as an all-female line-up.

“Samba de Janeiro” gave Bellini a 1997 breakthrough that reached far beyond the dancefloor: the track sold five million copies worldwide. In Germany, it reached number two on the singles chart, spent thirteen weeks in the top ten and earned the group an Echo award.

Bellini have performed in changing line-ups over the years, but Dandara Santos-Silva, who was already part of the project in 1997, returned in 2018. On stage, the combination of danceable music and movement remains the hallmark of this 90s act.
