About this festival
For the 34th time, Leipzig becomes the meeting place for the dark scene over Whitsun: Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2027 takes place from 14 to 17 May. Spread across numerous venues throughout the city, the festival presents a packed programme of concerts, parties, readings, exhibitions and classical performances. EBM, Industrial and Dark Electro are integral to the electronic side of the programme, alongside Gothic Rock, Dark Wave and medieval events.
The Agra site on Bornaische Straße is the main hub, home to the main box office, market hall and camping area with pitches for tents and motorhomes. Sanitary facilities are available on site, while showers incur a charge. Leipzig, with its main railway station, serves as the starting point for travelling to the festival, and several tram lines link the venues.
The 2027 programme will be announced gradually. Advance ticket sales will begin once ticket ordering opens, with the usual categories then available. Further announced acts and programme highlights will add to the varied line-up ahead of the Whitsun weekend.
Camping
Tent pitches and motorhome spaces are available at the Agra site in Leipzig. Sanitary facilities are provided; showers are subject to a charge.
Questions & answers
How do I get to the festival?
WGT takes place at around 50 venues across Leipzig. Your ticket includes travel on public transport throughout MDV Zone 110, including all trams, buses and S-Bahn services.
Is parking available?
The parking permit allows parking at the WGT car park at agra-Treffenpark on all event days. It is available in advance and on site.
How old do I need to be to get in?
The Youth Protection Act applies. Children under 16 are not admitted unless accompanied by a legal guardian; young people under 18 may stay only until midnight. Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by their parents, but must wear adequate hearing protection at concerts.
What can I bring, and what is prohibited?
Food and drinks may not be brought onto the festival site or into the venues. Holders of an Obsorgekarte may bring food and drinks onto the campsite for their own consumption.
Is the site accessible?
Companions of visitors with a disability receive a 100 per cent discount on the admission or Obsorge card if the disabled person's ID card includes the relevant B designation. Wristbands are issued together at the main box office at the main entrance to the agra site, Bornaische Straße 210.
Are dogs allowed on site?
Dogs and other animals are generally not permitted on the campsite or at the event venues.
Are there pitches for motorhomes?
Motorhomes and caravans require a Wohnwagen-Karte, available for pitches with or without an electricity connection; each person also requires an Obsorgekarte. Tow vehicles for caravans need a parking permit and must be parked in a separate car park.
