About this festival

The second edition of Square Festival takes place from 27 to 30 January 2027. Presented by Faz Cultura, the cultural organisation of the City of Braga, the festival grew out of Braga 25, Braga’s year as Portuguese Capital of Culture. It brings together a music showcase, an industry conference and nightly clubbing events. Braga is the main host city, while the first three days also feature shows in Famalicão, Guimarães and Viana do Castelo. The programme centres on artists from Europe, Africa and the Americas whose music circulates around the Atlantic.

The confirmed 2027 programme includes Ana Vis, Carme Lopez, Chisara, Helviofox, iD-sus, Land Whales, Nico Espinoza and TRAVO. The selection ranges from electronic sounds and experimental forms to traditional and global voices. Braga hosts the main music night on 30 January, while the conference and panels run across several days. Visitors can choose between a General Pass and a weekend ticket. Travel between the cities is possible by car or public transport.

The festival continues to announce further artists and programme items on its official website. Square 2027 is aimed at audiences keen to discover new music from the Atlantic region, combining an industry gathering with a varied concert programme in northern Portugal.
