About this festival
Barreiro, the industrial town on the south bank of the Tagus, becomes a hub for experimental music in early October. OUT.FEST takes place from 1 to 4 October 2026 across several venues, including Auditório Municipal Augusto Cabrita, the SIRB meeting hall, Oficina Gasoline and spaces at the municipal library. Dedicated to music beyond genre boundaries, the festival brings together concerts, sound installations, talks and shared listening sessions in a packed programme.
Artists appearing include Demdike Stare & Cherrystones, Wolf Eyes, Klein, Senyawa, Josey Rebelle, Deli Girls, Carla dal Forno and billy woods. The programme spans electronic music and DJ sets, noise, free jazz and experimental guitar sounds, as well as vocal and performance-based forms. Many performances feature international artists, alongside regular Portuguese contributions. Some events are free to attend.

Questions & answers
How do I get to the festival?
Lisbon city centre is only around 20 minutes from Barreiro by ferry. Ferries from Terreiro do Paço run daily between 5:05 am and 1:30 am; timetables are available from the ferry operator at ttsl.pt. Anyone with a ticket or wearing a Festivalpulse can also use TCB public buses free of charge from three hours before the concert begins.
Do tickets need to be exchanged for a festival wristband?
Yes. All tickets, whether day tickets or festival passes, must be exchanged for an official OUT.FEST wristband during the festival. Exchange is only possible at the relevant daily locations; the wristband is personal, non-transferable and must be worn immediately upon collection.
