About this festival
Modular Festival 2026 takes place from 3 to 7 September at Sportcamp Melchtal in Kerns, in the canton of Obwalden. The multi-day festival brings together psytrance, techno, art and nature in an alpine setting. Over five days, visitors gather at the site in Melchtal for a community-focused festival with a camping area.
Psytrance and techno are at the heart of the programme, with art and nature extending the experience beyond the dancefloors. Arrival and entry are organised in fixed time slots, while the campsite opens at the same time as the festival gates. A standard Phase 2 festival ticket costs 193 Swiss francs; Early Bird and Phase 1 tickets are sold out. Modular is aimed at guests looking for a longer electronic festival in the Swiss Alps with overnight stays on site.

Camping
Modular Festival offers a spacious Camping Area, included with the festival ticket. Visitors can bring their own tents. The campsite opens at 2 pm on Thursday, 3 September 2026. A caravan area is also available with a separate caravan ticket, along with rooms and hostel dorms on the festival site.

How do I get to the festival?
Modular Festival 2026 takes place from 3 to 7 September 2026 at Sportcamp Melchtal in Kerns, Obwalden, Switzerland. Travel by public transport by taking the train to Sarnen station, then the Postbus to the festival site. Shuttle buses are also available. If you are travelling by car, limited parking is available near the site and must be purchased in advance.
Is parking available?
Limited parking is available near the festival site, around a five-minute walk away. A parking ticket costs 25 Swiss francs and must be purchased before the event. The ticket must be displayed clearly in the vehicle.
How old do I need to be to get in?
Modular Festival is open to everyone aged 18 or over. Children and dogs are not permitted. Entry requires a valid ticket, official photo ID and peaceful behaviour.
Will there be tickets available at the box office?
A limited number of festival tickets will be available at the box office, subject to availability. Tickets at the box office cost 210 Swiss francs. However, advance purchase is recommended to guarantee entry.
What can I bring, and what is prohibited?
You may bring food without restriction. Barbecues and open fires are not permitted. Glass bottles are prohibited throughout the site. Dogs are not allowed.
