About this festival
Several kilometres of waterfront promenade become a concert strip at the end of June: Donauinselfest takes place from 25 to 27 June 2027 on Vienna’s Donauinsel and, with free entry on all three days, is one of Europe’s largest open-air festivals. Its programme spans genres across 14 stages, from rock and pop to hip-hop and electronic music, which has its own Electronic-Music-Bühne. As well as established acts, the line-up includes DJ sets and club sounds.
The festival site stretches for around 4.5 kilometres along the island, with food stalls lining the paths. The 2027 music programme will be announced closer to the event.

How do I get to the festival?
Donauinselfest recommends travelling by public transport, as there is very limited parking around the site. The festival grounds can be reached directly from the Handelskai station (U6, S-Bahn and regional trains), Neue Donau station (U6) and Donauinsel station (U1). In the evening, U-Bahn intervals will be reduced to three minutes to make the journey home easier.
Is parking available?
There is very limited parking around the festival site. Donauinselfest therefore advises against travelling by car and recommends using public transport.
How old do I need to be to get in?
Donauinselfest offers a programme for all age groups. Vienna’s Youth Protection Act applies to visits without a legal guardian.
How can I pay on site?
At the food and drink stalls at Donauinselfest, you can pay with cash as well as by credit or debit card.
What am I allowed to bring, and what is prohibited?
Bags and rucksacks up to A3 size may be brought in; anything larger is not permitted. Camelbacks, suitcases, large bulky items such as chairs and boxes, cans, glass bottles, alcoholic drinks, drugs and other intoxicants are also prohibited.
What happens in bad weather?
Umbrellas are not permitted for safety reasons. Bring a rain poncho instead; if it rains, rain ponchos will be distributed on site while stocks last.
Are dogs allowed on site?
Animals are generally not permitted on the festival site. Trained guide dogs for blind people and assistance dogs are exempt.
