About this festival

In August 2027, Matterley Estate near Winchester in southern England becomes the festival city of Boomtown. From 11 to 15 August, the major open-air festival opens its gates, creating its own universe of themed city districts, stages and immersive production. Its programme spans bass-heavy and electronic sounds including Drum and Bass, House and Techno, alongside Reggae and other genres, making it one of the most extensive offerings in the UK. The festival city is built across the green hills of a working farm in the South Downs National Park and welcomes guests aged 18 and over.

Camping is a central part of the experience. Alongside classic tent areas, there are more comfortable options, spaces for motorhomes and caravans, and a new exclusive camping area for the 2027 edition. A shuttle bus links Winchester railway station with the site. The line-up for the 2027 edition will be announced gradually through the official channels, and tickets are already on sale.

Camping

Camping is an integral part of the festival. Alongside traditional tent areas, there are more comfortable tent camps, a motorhome and caravan area, and a new exclusive camping area for the 2027 edition with its own view of the stage.

Questions & answers

How do I get to the festival?

The nearest railway station is Winchester, around five kilometres away. A regular shuttle bus runs from there to the festival site. Each person may take one item of luggage (up to 20 kilograms) and up to three items of camping equipment, including a tent, on the shuttle and coach.

Is parking available?

A parking pass can be purchased when booking or later via your Kaboodle account. Shuttle buses run from the car parks for the respective camping areas to the entrances; a free shuttle runs from the Camp Orchid car park to the West Entrance.

How do I pay on site?

Boomtown is cashless: all payments are made using a contactless RFID wristband loaded with credit via the barcode in the Boomtown app. Activating and topping up the wristband, as well as refunding any remaining credit, are free. The system operates as a closed loop and does not require WLAN.

Is the site accessible?

Applications for accessible access for the 2027 edition can be made from 1 February to 1 July 2027. Access is provided via the Nimbus Access Card or a separately requested digital Boomtown Access Pass; however, the green open-air site has slopes and uneven ground.
