About this festival
From 2 to 4 October 2026, Backslash Festival transforms Theater Gessnerallee in Zurich into a setting for experimental electronic music, club culture, dance and visual art. The event’s tenth edition, which has been running since 2016, brings together electronic live acts, DJ sets, performances and visual interventions across several spaces in the venue. The indoor programme runs from 8 pm to 1 am on Friday and until 6 am on Saturday, while Sunday features a daytime programme. Entry is restricted to guests aged 18 or over, and the venue has step-free access.
The line-up includes confirmed artists such as Buttechno, Aa Sudd and 36birds, alongside performances and live productions from the international, national and local scene. The festival sees itself as a place where club night, contemporary theatre and niche concerts overlap. An awareness team will be on site throughout the event, with earplugs available at the box office. Developed by the Tokyo Data Collective association in co-production with Theater Gessnerallee, Backslash Festival is aimed at audiences seeking electronic music beyond stage clichés.

The festival is accessible to visitors aged 18 or over; entry is restricted to adults.
Is the site accessible?
The entire festival site is step-free and designed for people with reduced mobility. Free earplugs are available at the box office, and seating is provided inside the hall.
