Lasgo

Lasgo took Belgian vocal trance beyond its borders and became one of the defining acts of the sound. The project has changed vocalists several times, while producer Peter Luts has remained a constant over the years.

Lasgo began with Luts, producer David Vervoort and singer Evi Goffin; the name was derived from the Scottish city of Glasgow. When Goffin and Vervoort left, Lasgo found a new singer in Jelle van Dael through a televised search in 2008. Jef Martens has worked alongside Luts as co-producer since 2008, and Nikki Born took over vocals in 2024.

The first major breakthrough came in 2001 with “Something”: the debut single was certified gold in Belgium and Germany and won a Belgian TMF Award. “Alone” also found a wide audience, reaching the UK Top Ten. Lasgo has sold more than five million records to date, with a story that began with early success far beyond Belgium.

After the long period with van Dael, a new chapter began in 2024: Born now sings for Lasgo, while Luts and Martens are working on new music. With “Ride the Storm” and another release in 2025, the act remained musically active after the change.
