GEZELLIGE UPTEMPO

Gezellige Uptempo are a Dutch collective of five friends who bring Uptempo Hardcore to the stage with a sizeable dose of silliness. Their poo masks make the joke unmistakable, but beneath the costumes are rapid mixes and direct crowd interaction.

It began with a shared love of Uptempo tracks that put smiles on the five friends’ faces. First came a shared playlist, then an Instagram page full of memes, before they decided to DJ themselves in the REBiRTH DJ Contest. The masks, whose character had already featured on the playlist artwork, arrived just days before that performance.

For the contest, they expected perhaps a hundred people; instead, the area became so crowded that security had to hold further people at the entrance. Following their move onto festival stages in 2023, 2024 brought appearances at the Indoor-UV of Defqon.1, the Mainstage of Decibel Outdoor and the Dynamite-Stage of Intents Festival. Their musical reach grew too: with Partyraiser, they created “Cobra 6”, the official anthem for BKJN vs. Partyraiser 2026.

Their name promises sociability, while their sets charge ahead with hard kicks, high speed and rapid transitions. At their Gezellige-Clubtempo hostings, including at WiSH Outdoor, they extend this mix of music and mischief across an entire day or evening. For festival crowds, that means being right in the middle of it rather than simply watching on – perhaps even with a pink cake as an encore.
