Akira

Akira is the artist name of Kin Wing Lam, a DJ and producer whose music moves between Hardcore, Terror and Speedcore. His sets also draw on Industrial Hardcore and Breakcore, so hard sound is never confined to a single style.

Originally from Hong Kong, Akira began his career in 1997 with DJ Rob’s Dutch DJ Squad label. After hearing Liza 'N Eliaz, he also turned to Terror and founded his own label, Hong Kong Violence. Alongside Akira, he uses the names HKV and R3born, and is also part of Fish & Rice.

His best-known tracks include „Trance Trutje“, closely associated with both his name and Hong Kong Violence. His appearances have included Pandemonium Festival in 2014 and Snakepit in 2018.

On stage, Akira combines precise mixing with unexpected record selections, moving between early and industrial styles of Hardcore, Terror and Speedcore. For festival crowds, that means a set exploring the harder edges of electronic music rather than settling on a single sound.
